Republic Day History
Indian Republic Day, the day when Indian constitution came to force and our country emerged as an Independent Republic in the year 1950. A great time to remember and cherish the most proud and honored moment in the history of India. The chief architect for drafting Indian constitution was Dr. B.R Ambedkar. From the Indian Republic Day parade to heartwarming performances by little children in school, all have their unique way to pay a tribute to our nation. Each effort signifies the patriotism level we Indians have in our hearts for our beloved country. The thundering and tremendous celebration of Republic Day takes place at Rajpath, India Gate in the presence of India’s honorable president. It is the biggest glorification for all Indians.
What’s New This Year
At the 68th Republic Day parade we gazed some new themes like Skill India, Green India-Clean India, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, etc. As India is on the brink to celebrate its 69th Republic Day, we all have a new thing included in the nationwide celebration this year. 10 ASEAN (Association Of Southeast Asian Nations) leaders are going to be a part of this year’s Republic Day celebration. ASEAN includes leaders from the nations like Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, The Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Brunei. The leaders of these nations will also be the Republic Day chief guests at the ceremonial and grand parade at Rajpath. That is the new thread attached to 26th January celebration.
From Indian Republic Day parade, preparations of eye-pleasing jhankis, to the television channels telecasting patriotic movies all these things sums up to give us an essence of festive and patriotic vibes. We all are familiar about the grand parade and glorious stunts performed by Indian military. The event at India Gate starts with Indian Prime Minister crowning flower rings at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in remembrance of brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the Nation. Awards and medals of bravery are given to the soldiers.
Let’s Face a Change
Why do we celebrate Republic Day? We all expect a general answer like – it manifests us a democracy and concedes us to live in own style. But there is a concern we all must stress about, its high time we all should admit the fact that it is not only a soldier’s duty to protect and guard you by keeping his life on stake 24×7. If they are selfless in their duty then there should be little efforts made from our side too. Yes, we all know and are well aware of the fact that Republic Day is a gazetted holiday in India, but we all must not take this day as a holiday only and the motive of this leave should not be restricted only to watch patriotic movies.
A Small Step Towards Happy India
On Republic day 2018, we all must introspect our inner self to contribute a bit towards the betterment of a healthy nation by adopting positive traits like cleanliness, educate people around, saving water, regulating the use of electricity. All these steps will surely give you a fruitful tomorrow. We all should try to understand the true Republic Day meaning by promising ourselves to do the bits we can for the betterment of our nation.
Warm wishes to all on this prestigious occasion.
Happy Republic Day!
